Do you remember that line in ‘Remember the Titans’, “Attitude reflects leadership Captain”? Have you ever given it much thought? As an older sister to a 13 year old, I have really been seeing a reflection of myself lately. And I honestly don’t like what I see. I’ve’ really learned that that line is totally true. Attitude really does reflect leadership…in a positive or a negative way. It just seems to show more with the negative, I think. My little sister is 13 so you can kind of imagine how typical 13 year old are. They have attitude. Well lately, some of the things my sister has said, (mostly talking back to my parents and rude comments and stuff) have appalled me. I couldn’t believe someone could be so disrespectful…I’ve gotten extremely mad at her and told her she needs to watch it. But then a few minutes later, when I’m going on with my day, I realize it’s an echo. I’ve said the exact same thing. Except she’s 13 and I’m almost 18. I seriously never realized what my words sounded like spoken. How deep they cut and how hurtful they really are. I never really thought my little sisters were watching and listening to EVERYTHING I do and say. Attitude really does reflect leadership…what kind of reflection of myself to I want to see?

This quote “attitude reflects leadership” just echoed into my mind.
I’m 27y.o working as product manager, to be promoted to marketing manager, the request from my upper management is to be “less friendly with people” i have to be firm and have attitude, dress upscale and quit riding my bike and use my car everyday.
So basically it is very true in this world. I have to have attitude, drop this friendly smile i got and just talk back to people when needed.
